Apologies!

July 23rd, 2008

Dear loyal listeners of Bears in the City:

Unfortunately we made an upgrade of this site which has rendered our podcasting software unable to upload new posts for the moment. We have podcast #37 ready to send out to you, but unfortunately the technical issues prevent it from being released. The technical issues should be resolved by early next week.

We really do apologise for this, and hope that you will understand. We’ll be back and strong as ever as soon as we can!

(For those that want to know, Seumas upgraded to Wordpress 2.6 not realising that WP 2.6 was incompatible with Podpress 8.8. Attempts to rollback to 2.5 failed as the databases are upgraded in the move to 2.6, so it has to stay in 2.6. A fix (Podpress 8.9) will be out over the weekend - when it is out, we’ll get it upgraded and get the RSS feed up to date, and get you enjoying the podcasts all over again)

Whilst recording one of our last episodes of our Bears in the City Podcast, we decided to muck around, and do a video ‘introduction’ of each of us… And this is how it turned out!

We were discussing this on podcast #36, and we wondered, if there was a “Bears in the City” movie, who would be playing each of us?  We came up with:

Clinton: Nathan Lane
John: Antonio Banderas (or Jason Alexander!)
Craige: Jack Black
Dominic: Philip Seymour Hoffman
Seumas: Seth Rogan

But who do YOU think should be playing each of us?  This your chance to be humorous, nasty, complimentary or serious - whatever you like!

Go to it, guys!

Benita Collings from Play School,
Kylie’s OBE and being on Doctor Who,
Australia’s Got (NO) Talent,
The Gruen Transfer on the ABC,

The worst TV show ever,

The things you see….

June 18th, 2008

OK,

So this is a sticker in the vestibule area of some of the older trains I work on.  I DO know what it actually means, but perhaps some of you could suggest some alternatives?

The Train sign - what does it mean?

I’ve suggested:

“Please do not bring headless children on board this train”

My other favourites have been:

“Don’t pet the stylised goose”

“No naked raving in the guards compartment” (I think that’s a reference to the recent events on the London Underground!)

Anyone else have any suggestions?

– Dominic
